PURPOSE OF ROLE

Please summarise the overall purpose of the role.

  • Researching, architecting, designing, implementing and managing software
  • Testing and evaluating new software
  • Documenting designs/architectures
  • Writing and implementing efficient code
  • Deploying software tools, processes and metrics
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
  • Training users
  • Working with/managing external vendors to do all of above duties

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Education in one of following disciplines

  • Computer Science
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Physics

Skills:-

  • Strong experience (at least 2-5 years) with some of: Python, Java, Node.js, C#
  • An understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Database experience (relational or NoSQL)
  • Familiarity with an MVC web framework (e.g. Pyramid, Django, Ruby on Rails, etc)
  • Familiarity with front-end development (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript) · Familiarity with building/consuming REST APIs
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure
  • Other tools: version control system (GitHub), JIRA, Confluence, PowerBI
