The company’s emphasis on high-impact talent meant that it consciously adopted a passive hiring strategy early on in its recruitment. “We are in fact always looking for passive talent. These are the candidates who we know are really happy with what they are doing, care about their work, and are usually above average. But they also have their own networks through which they find opportunities.”


So, in essence, Ameya and his team were looking to find talent that they couldn’t find otherwise. This is when they turned to Belong.

Poppin then combines these insights with Belong’s predictive technology, which tells her if someone’s passively looking for their next opportunity, to make sure she is reaching out to the right person at the right time. “I know that candidates who show up as “more likely to move” are the ones who respond to your mails faster than the rest,” she says.


But, traditionally, the toughest hurdle recruiters face in reaching out to passive talent is the lack of reliable and appropriate contact information. “Normally, several candidates who enter our search are unreachable for several reasons, either contact details are not properly available or follow-ups fail. In many cases, I would have let go if I weren’t receiving responses,” confirms Ameya.


“But that’s not the case on Belong. You guys don’t let that happen!” he says. With Belong, Ameya’s team gets access to verified candidate profile and contact data that’s continuously enriched and auto-updated. “The CVs, profile information and contact details are all taken care of. And there are always multiple ways to reach out to candidates, even if one of them fails,” he says.


Ultimately, Ameya believes his talent acquisition team has benefited significantly from the innovations and efficiencies Belong brings to their sourcing. “I can definitely say that it’s reduced our sourcing time by half,” he says. “I spend half the time that I spend on LinkedIn, job sites and other networks.”
